With its Baroque Palaces and Churches, impressive castle, gold-tipped towers, majestic bridges and Gothic spires, this truely enchanting city of Prague fully deserves its nickname, Zlatna Praha or Golden Prague. The city has been home to mighty emperors and kings and has inspired creative spirits from Mozart to Kafka.
Make sure on your visit, that you join the crowd in front of the tower to observe the procession of the Twelve Apostles in the Astronomical Clock at the Old Town Hall, and to climb the Observation Tower to marvel at the magnificent views at Petrin Hill. Take a stroll across the famous Charles Bridge, and pick up a cruise from here that will take you along the beautiful Vltara Rivers.
A trip to Prague is more suited to families with children over the age of five, as like many older cities the cobbled streets present some challenges when travelling with children in pushchairs! There is also a lack of highchairs in restaurants, although this is improving.
Things to Do with Kids in Prague

Don't miss the Karlestein Castle tour. founded by Charles IV over 650 years ago, Karlestejn Castle is set in dense forest and is the most impressive Gothic castle in the Czech Republic.
Take a trip up Petřín Hill. It not only offers stunning views of Prague but the mirror maze at the top will be a fun diversion for kids along with the observatory. The ride to the top on a funicular railway is equally exciting, and there are sometimes pony rides available for the smaller children.
Definately well worth the trip is Prague Zoo, located just 3 km's from the city centre, set around a river gorge, with rocky cliff faces and rolling meadows all around. There are the usual suspects, such as penguins, sea lions, lions, tigers and elephants - along with some less common animals like Markhor and Ibex, housed in mountain enclosures.
SeaWorld is as equally interesting for those who are animal lovers, with its array of beautiful fish feeding off the coral, and a Sand Shark, one of the most feared sea predators after the Great White Shark.
If your planning on visiting a few of the many attractions, it could be worth getting hold of the handy Prague Card, which gives free entry to more than 50 of the top attractions.
