Family holiday and travel with children to Turkey

Turkey makes for a great family holiday as it has something for everyone. Children are welcomed with open arms - mind you, adults are too!

Turkey is where east meets west, spanning over the two continents of Europe and Asia. This beautiful eastern Mediterranean country is the most southern and sunny of European destinations, making Turkey a family holiday favourite. It is adored by many for its spectacular coastline including stunning beaches and clear blue seas. Turkey is also rich in History with many relics of ancient civilisations to explore. Its bustling bazaars and vibrant culture make Turkey a magical place for families to venture, you can even test your haggling skills at one of its open air markets whilst shopping for local delicacies such as teas, sweets and handcrafted gifts.

Turkey is a vast country, combining Mediterranean and continental climates, making conditions in the north cooler than the south. The temperature in summer averages between 28 and 30°C but has been known to peak at 45°C in the Mediterranean parts. Therefore families may want to head to Turkey in June and September, taking advantage of the gorgeous sunshine just outside of the higher temperatures of July and August.

The best resorts to take children in Turkey include Marmaris, this town on the Mediterranean coast, boasts stunning scenery, clear blue seas and amazing all inclusive hotels. Take a boat trip to neighbouring Rhodes from Turkey’s largest marina here or simply relax on one of its fabulous beaches. Bodrum is situated in the Aegean coast and is renowned for being one of the prettiest resorts in this area, with miles of sandy beaches and amazing seas, this is the perfect place for some family water sports and beach fun. Another popular family destination in Turkey is Antalya, famed for its beautiful nature and historical riches, but you may lose dad to one of its many amazing golf courses.

A truly beautiful part of the world, with so much to do, Turkey has all of the ingredients needed to make a memorable family holiday.
