Family holiday and travel with children to Spain

Spain has been a firm family favourite with British tourists for years, and there are many reasons why people flock back again and again. Beautiful sunshine, glorious cities and friendly people are to name but a few. This really is a family destination that keeps on giving.

If you are visiting with small children the best time to holiday would be in spring, temperatures are a lot more comfortable this time of year. The Canary Islands are also winter favourites due to warm temperatures continuing into the later months thanks to their position just off the north-western coast of Africa, in the Atlantic Ocean.

Located in south western Europe on the Iberian Peninsula, Spain is home to a variety of different family holiday resorts. It really couldn’t be more versatile, there is something for every family here. You can choose to take the kids on a cultural city break in Barcelona or Madrid or hit the beaches for some laid back summer fun on one of the Balearic or Canary Islands.

Spain is fast becoming the theme park capital of Europe with the massive Port Aventura located near Salou on the beautiful Costa Dorada and Parque De Atracciones situated in Madrid, to name but two. After all that excitement the family can indulge in a Spanish custom, an afternoon siesta. It’s important to note that some local shops and smaller supermarkets may close in Spain for a brief period in the afternoon, so be prepared and stock up on plenty of water in the morning.
