Home to the stars, Los Angeles is the City of Angels, and family holidays spent here are filled with fun and interesting activities to do every day.

Los Angeles is an iconic worldwide destination for holiday makers and is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists on a yearly basis. Located right on the North Pacific Ocean, this desirable city is home to some of the world’s most famous celebrities, and is a haven for the rich and beautiful alike.

Divided into areas, Los Angeles is made up of famous locations like Hollywood, with its instantly recognizable hilltop sign, and its boulevard that showcases hundred of stars emblazoned with celebrities’ names. The area known as Beverley Hills climbs its way north into the hills, offering an unparalleled view across the Downtown area, and the wealthy suburbs of Pasadena lie to the east, offering a quieter haven for travellers who want the luxury of Los Angeles but without the noise of the built up city.

On the coastline itself, Los Angeles is famous for Venice Beach, which often appears in photographs or media footage and is well known for its roller bladders and the weightlifters who work out at the outdoor gym known as ‘Muscle Beach’. Santa Monica Beach, which lies further north, is famous for its pier and the amusement rides at the end of it, which have featured in a number of television programs and featured length films.

The climate in Los Angeles is mostly warm, and this has a lot to do with the fact that it lies next to the desert lands of Nevada. The city is always busy, so there isn’t really a best time to avoid the crowds, but even so, travelling off peak in months like September and October will still let you enjoy warm weather and long days of sunshine, but can keep the cost of your holiday down as its out of the main tourist season.
